Tips for Preparing Your Home for Inspections
One of the most popular questions we receive is - How should we prepare our home for an inspection? If you are thinking about selling your home soon you will definitely want our tips on what the do's and don't include when prepping your home for sale and an upcoming inspection.
Tip #1 If your home is in good condition and you are not aware of any issues then we recommend that you do NOT hire an independent inspector to see what items may come up before listing your home. In the state of TX you are required to share all inspection reports completed on your home within the last 4 years.
Tip #2 Should you fix "known defects" - YES! If you are aware of a repair needed in your home you should definitely take care of it. It shows the buyer you have cared for your home and they will have fewer concerns to cover when purchasing your home.
Tip #3 Should you update your home? Maybe. It depends on the current market conditions in your area. Before spending extra money updating your home please contact us to preview your home and give you advice and create personalized plan for you to sell your home for top dollar.
If you have specific questions about your home please let us know! We have built relationships with contractors that we know and trust to help you prepare your home for the next buyer!
